Ankita earned a Bachelor degree in Biology at Mohanlal Sukhadia University and then a Masters degree in Biochemistry at Sardar Patel Medical College where she studied mechanisms of inhibition of the translation of hepatitis A viral RNA by a cleavage product of polypyrimidine tract binding protein. She joined the Galburt Lab in 2019 and is researching the regulatory mechanisms of mycobacterial transcription.
