Gary Akers was a true pioneer in biophysics and an visionary former head of the department here at Washington University. More information on Dr. Akers can be found here. Congratulations to Drake for receiving this award which carries additional funds to support his research.
Jayan Rammohan defended his thesis describing mechanisms of the mycobacterial transcription factor CarD on September 30, 2016. Congratulations to Jay!
Drake is a member of the Biophysics program within the Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences here at Washinton University and will be focusing on the mechanisms of transcriptional regulation in the pathogenic bacteria, Mycobacterium tuberculosis. See his page here.
